Cradle of Filth

We are honoured to present a top-5 chosen by metal royalty… Cradle of Filth.

These guys have been slaying for more than 20 years, and they’re no strangers to a bit of controversy. You probably shouldn’t wear one of their t-shirts to work.

Paul Allender (guitar) has picked out his top 5 tracks for us – check his list below…

1 – Iron Maiden’s The Trooper.

I like this song because it was this track that got me into metal. I bought this when it came out just because I liked the cover. Once I put it on I was hooked for life!!

2 – Motorhead’s Ace of Spades.

This track for me is a killer song. It brings back school memories of very drunken parties and pissing the neighbours  off at 3am LOL

3 – Judas Priest’s Defenders of the Faith entire album.

This album defines metal for me, it’s one of the best albums I have ever heard to date and nothing till now hasn’t even come close to it.

4 – Dio’s Holy diver.

More school memories with this track. This song / album was a huge influence on me throughout my teens. The voice of Ronnie James Dio was one in a million, a real true rock singer with so much talent and nothing like the wannabes nowadays.

5 – Cradle of Filth – For Your Vulgar Delectation.

I had to put this one in because this track has the vibe of what we used to do back in the day before the likes of Dusk etc. This track captures everything the band used to be and what the band will be from this point on. Tons of attitude, aggression.
