The Bouncing Souls

The Bouncing Souls play upbeat, sing-along punk rock, and they’re amazing. In other news, their guitarist Pete has been kind enough to pick out his top 5 tracks.

Have a listen to Pete’s choices below, and follow @top5tracks on Twitter or click LIKE over in the box on the right. There‚Äôs more good bands coming up and you might miss them. Actually the next one is from another BIG punk rock band…

Over to Pete:

1 – The Jam – When You’re Young

This song has one of my favourite lines of all time: “life’s a drink and you get drunk when you’re young”. Paul Weller was the best young-man-angst-British-fucking-genius, you know? He’s still a bad-ass after all these years.

2 – The Misfits – Horror Business

How do you pick one Misfits song? The actual Misfits, from back then, were Jersey’s best punk band ever. It has the line “I’m warning you, I’ll put a knife right in you”. Who says that in a song? It doesn’t get any tougher than that.

3 – New Model Army – Vagabonds

I’ve been listening to this on our UK tour. It’s been cold and snowy, we’ve been up in the Midlands and it always reminds me of New Model Army. The record this is on “Thunder and Consolation” is amazing. They’ve been around since the early 80s – proper English punk from Bradford.

4 – Replacements – Bastards Of Young

They’re just the best band ever. They did everything from garage punk to beautiful ballads. The whole time it was really true, really honest, all about being unsatisfied, looking for something better.

5 – Black Sabbath – Lord of This World

Black Sabbath are a band I’ve loved since I was a young dirtbag metalhead kid, and I still love them today. I’ll always go back to Black Sabbath, until I die. They’re just one of those bands…
